Hey Everyone,
It has been another wonderful week at SKTM! I have been able to do a lot of teaching and have really had fun teaching everyone different math games! Yesterday I taught a math lesson to my third graders on time. We learned how to add and subtract time, it was fun and we even learned how to add time when it is given in different units. Afterwards, we played math movers...a super crazy game, that got everyone up and running around :) The teacher writes a problem on the board...so I would write 3 hours + 4 hours...students solve the problem in their head and them form groups of the answer without talking! SO, the answer is 7 hours...everyone has to get into groups of 7 as fast as they can without talking...if a group forms the incorrect size or if anyone is left over because they werent fast enough...they are out and the game goes to the next round. It was probably the craziest game I have ever played, but it was SO much fun and the kids really enjoyed it! Kurnia came to witness the chaos and observe my craziness! I think she had just as much fun watching the kids run as the kids did running around!
After school, Courtney, Katie, Renee, Meredith and I all got together to cook an "American" tea for our families. Since we eat 6 meals a day here, tea is served around 6 and then dinner at 9. So at 6 we cooked some of our favorite American foods. Homemade mac & cheese, tuna noodle casserole, guacamole, fruit salad and pan-fried potatoes! It was pretty much all carbs and fat...a true American feast! We had SO much fun cooking and our host families all came to join us, it got everyone together and really made us feel at home. After being gone for so long I think we are all starting to feel a little homesick, so last night was perfect!

We are off to Malacca for the weekend, and on Sunday we are going to a traditional Malay wedding! It is going to be so much fun and we will all get to wear our new Baju Karons :) We'll post pictures when we get back!
Looking forward to another weekend with my other half :)
