I went diving today off of Nusa Lembongan (a small island just south of Bali)... It was incredible! The reef was pristine and untouched as not many people know about this small spot to dive and more people travel to Bali to dive. There were beautiful soft corals that I had never seen diving before! There were so many species of fish including butterflyfish, trigger, puffer, angel, damsels, batfish, bigeyes, box fish, anemone fish, goat fish, gobies, sweetlips, parrot fish, moorish idols, and best of all...
MOLA-MOLA!!!!
Now if you don't know, google it... It is the biggest boned fish in the world and I'm not kidding they really weigh a ton. (2,200 lbs) It was bigger than me in size and I saw the first one at 28meters down (around 80+feet) It let us swim close, close enough that I could see it's one very large eye turn and look at me before it swam away! I was about five or six feet away from this beautiful giant! Throughout the dive I saw a total of five mola-mola (or sunfish)! When my guide and I surfaced he just smiled at me and said "You VERY lucky" and I'm thinking that I was lucky because the season just started to see them here in, however then he said... "I never see 5!"
That's right I'm lucky! It was the best dive I have ever had (including swimming with sharks, and minke whales!)
